Evzia features
Evzia is an app for iPhone (Android coming soon) that counts the calories and protein in what you eat from a photo or a sentence, tracks your weight and your activity and estimates your real expenditure. You use it on your own or in a group, and the AI suggests but you confirm. This page gathers everything it does, by area.
Android? Coming soon to Google Play. Meanwhile, try it in your browser.
Logging what you eat
Type, dictate or take a photo. Evzia suggests the numbers for each food and you decide what counts in your day.
-
One field for everything: the + button
Type or say anything you like, with photos if you have them. The app works out whether it’s food, a question, your weight or exercise and takes you where it belongs. It only switches paths when it’s sure; if it’s unsure, it calculates the food as usual. -
Log food
One field for text, voice or a photo that searches instantly, without AI, among what you’ve already logged (“Your foods”) and the “Food database”. AI calculates anything new. With nothing typed, it shows what you usually eat with the grams from last time, your batches and your recipes, “Copy yesterday’s” and “Enter the values by hand”. -
AI calculation, ingredient by ingredient
Type “150 g of lentils and a banana” and Evzia returns each food separately, with its kcal, protein, carbs and fat. The AI suggests and you confirm: nothing adds to your day until you add it, optional items stay out of the total, and anything estimated, like a serving with no grams, is marked “(est.)”. -
Photos of the dish, the label or the product
Up to four at a time, and they add up. If the text includes grams, they apply to what’s in the photo; if not, Evzia estimates the serving and marks it. A cooked dish comes out ingredient by ingredient, with its total; packaged foods, single pieces and batches stay whole. Photos of dishes and labels are sent to the AI, with your permission, and are not stored. -
Dictation
Speak and the text appears in the field so you can check and fix it before calculating. Turning your voice into text doesn’t use credits, and the audio isn’t stored. -
Labels you can save
With a photo of a label you can save its values to your foods. If the nutrition table and the front of the package are in different photos, Evzia reads them together to get the values and the name. -
A food database that learns
What you confirm is saved with its values per 100 g, and next time it’s calculated instantly, without AI and without using credits. What you correct by hand or comes from a label takes priority over what the AI estimates. It doesn’t save dishes with a variable recipe or generic names, so an estimate is never treated as if it were a real value. -
Meals with their time windows
Each person has their own meals (“Breakfast”, “Lunch”, “Dinner”… or their own) with their hours, and each food is logged in its own. Today shows them as cards, with their kcal and protein. If you like, the AI suggests them based on what time you log. -
Today: your day at a glance
Your kcal, protein, carbs and fat for the day, what’s left to reach your kcal and protein goals, what you ate by meal, and your activity. You can look at any day and, on your phone, change day by swiping the header. -
Ask
Ask anything about your day, like “what should I have for dinner to reach my protein?”. The answer takes into account what you’ve logged and your goals, and it doesn’t log anything on its own. -
Logging ahead
You can log what you’re going to eat up to seven days ahead. It counts as eaten that day, and Evzia tells you so.
Batches, recipes and the shopping list
Cook once and log each serving with its numbers.
-
Batches
The big dishes you cook at home: you enter the raw ingredients (the AI helps you break them down) and the final cooked weight, and Evzia calculates the values per 100 g. With “How much should I have?” you see the grams that match some kcal or some protein, and you log it for anyone in the group. You can search by name and by ingredients. A recipe can become a batch (“Save as batch”), and when you delete a batch you can save it as a recipe. -
Recipes with a target
Ask for a recipe with the kcal or protein per serving you want. Mark each ingredient as “must have” or “optional” and decide whether the AI can add others. The server checks the math and, if it’s off by more than 5%, adjusts the grams. A recipe doesn’t add to your day on its own: you log a serving or save it as a batch. -
Recipes from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube videos
Share the video with Evzia, or paste its link, and the app builds the recipe from the video’s description and what is said in it: grams, values per serving and the source. It doesn’t look at the image: if the recipe isn’t there, it says so and discards it. To get the description, only the video’s link is sent, no data from your group. -
Organized recipes
A search by name, ingredient and category. There are fixed categories (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and dessert) and your own, several per recipe. The AI suggests categories and they only apply if you accept them. -
Logging a serving
Recipes belong to the group: anyone can log a serving of one that someone else made. You choose ½, 1, 1½, 2 or any number of servings, and each ingredient goes in separately, with its grams and values. The optional items of a video recipe come unchecked. -
Adjusting the amounts
With “How much are you making?” you change the servings or the total grams and everything scales, including what you take to a batch or to the shopping list, without touching the recipe. You can change the grams of each ingredient, remove or add ingredients, or fit the recipe to a target per serving, without AI. -
Adapting a recipe with AI
Ask for, say, a lighter version: the AI starts from the recipe’s ingredients and grams and saves a new recipe, leaving the original untouched. -
The group’s shopping list
One list for the whole group, in real time. Type or dictate (“milk, eggs and bread”); “2 kg of potatoes” is saved as “Potatoes” with “2 kg”, and Evzia suggests what you usually buy. You see who added each item and check it off as bought with the checkbox. From a recipe or a batch you add its ingredients with their grams. It doesn’t use AI or credits.
Weight and progress
Your weight, its trend and your estimated real expenditure, with the math in plain view.
-
Weight
You log it with the + button. Evzia suggests weighing yourself in the morning, on an empty stomach and after using the bathroom so days compare well, but it’s only a suggestion: a weight at another time counts too. -
Trend and rate
The trend is the 7-day average: it’s the line on the chart, and your weigh-ins stay as dots. The rate, in kg per week, comes from the last 28 days, once there are at least 4 weigh-ins spanning a week. -
Goal weight
If you set one, you see how far you are and, at this rate, around what date you’d get there. If you’re not getting closer, or it would take more than two years, it doesn’t make up a date. -
Your starting plan
A wizard asks your sex, your year of birth, your height, your weight, how much you move and your goal (losing weight, maintaining or building muscle, at a gentle, normal or fast pace) and recommends kcal, protein and activity with formulas, without AI. You adjust each number, and nothing is saved until you tap “Save my plan”. It has safety limits: never under 1,200 kcal or a deficit of more than 25% of what you burn, and losing weight isn’t offered to minors, to anyone with a BMI of 18.5 or less, or to anyone who burns very little. -
Estimated maintenance: your own formula
At first, your expenditure comes from well-known formulas. After about two weeks of logging what you eat and weighing yourself often, Evzia adjusts it with that data: it blends the formula and the scale according to how reliable each one is, uses only well-logged days, and detects phase changes on its own (from deficit to surplus, to maintenance…). Whether you’re in a deficit, at maintenance or in a surplus (what you eat compared with that expenditure) it tells you sooner: as soon as you have three well-logged days in the week. And it never changes your kcal goal on its own. How it’s calculated. -
Weekly summary
What you eat per day on average, your protein, your estimated maintenance and your deficit or surplus, all calculated over the same days: the well-logged ones. -
Charts
Your weight, with its trend, and your calories, against each day’s goal, with their range and history. Tap or drag to see each day’s figure. -
Private progress photos
Front, side and back photos, with Evzia’s camera or from your gallery (several at once). The camera shows the last photo of that pose on top, transparent, and has a timer. You compare them side by side or by sliding, and you can make an image to share if you want. They are private to each person: they can only be seen on the phones you unlock with your photo PIN (and with your fingerprint, on your own phone). Nobody else in the group can see them, nor can the people behind Evzia, and they are not sent to the AI. They are stored encrypted in the European Union.
Activity and exercise
Steps, treadmill, other activities and a workout plan with drawings of every exercise.
-
Automatic steps and weight
If you turn it on (More → Settings → This phone), Evzia reads your steps for the last 7 days and the weight from your scale for the last 30, with Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. It reads when you open the app, and it only reads: it doesn’t write anything to Health. Steps can also be logged by hand. -
Activity goal
Each person can set their own activity goal, in kcal, and see how far along they are each day. Activity is the sum of steps and exercise, wherever it comes from: your phone, the treadmill or any other activity. -
Treadmill
With the minutes, speed and incline, Evzia calculates net kcal with the ACSM equations and your weight from that day or, if there isn’t one, the most recent before it. Net means without the resting expenditure, which is already in your maintenance. -
Other activities
Cycling, stationary bike or spinning, elliptical, swimming, water aerobics, rowing, padel or tennis, dance or Zumba, yoga, Pilates, weights or machines, gym class and “Other” with your own name. You choose the time and the intensity (light, moderate or vigorous, with the talk test) and Evzia calculates net kcal with the MET values from the 2024 Compendium. If your watch or the machine gives you its kcal, you enter those. Walking and running outdoors aren’t included: they already count through steps. -
Tell the AI
Tell it what you did (“half an hour on the treadmill and a Pilates class”) and it suggests one row per item, which you can tap to change. You log everything at once, with a single “Undo”. -
A workout plan with 601 exercises and drawings
Your plan by days, blocks and exercises, each with its sets, reps or time, weight, rest, “per side” and a note. A block can be sets or exercises done back to back in rounds (superset or circuit). You choose from 601 exercises, with drawings of the starting and ending position and the muscle they work, steps and tips, or write your own. You can search by name, equipment or muscle. Exercises and drawings: RepDB (repdb.co). -
Write or dictate your plan
Tell it your workout in your own words and the AI puts it in order, choosing exercises from the list. -
Suggest a workout plan
A four-step wizard (goal and level; days, time and equipment; aches and area; summary) and the AI creates a plan with exercises from the database, filtered by your equipment and your level. If you already have one, it can improve it. -
Training mode
Your workout day step by step, full screen. The drawing alternates the starting and ending position, and you see what you did last time (“12 · 12 · 10 with 8 kg”). You log other reps or weights if they change, and the rest counts down: when it ends, it vibrates and beeps and, if you’re in another app, it alerts you with a notification (if you give it permission). The screen stays on and, if you leave halfway, you can pick up later. Without training step by step, “Done today” marks a workout day.
Reminders and supplements
Alerts on your phone, at your time, for each person.
-
Weigh-ins and logging
One reminder to weigh yourself at the time you choose and another to log what you eat: in the afternoon, if you haven’t logged anything that day, and at night, if you haven’t logged anything since the afternoon. -
Monday summary
On Monday mornings, a summary: your weight compared with the week before, the days you met your activity goal and your average kcal. -
Supplements and medication
Log what you take by time of day (by default, morning, midday and night; up to six times and ten items in each), each item with its days of the week. Each reminder comes with a Done button (and, on Android, a snooze button for 30 minutes), and what you took is marked in Today. Reminders and what you mark as taken are never sent to the AI.
Achievements and weekly challenges
An extra that stays out of the way: the main thing is logging and seeing your day.
-
Medals and points
Medals with levels and points for consistency: logging on time, weighing in, moving, getting your protein, taking your supplements… Nothing rewards eating little or losing weight fast. Notices appear at the top without interrupting what you’re doing, and you can turn them off with a switch in Settings. -
Weekly challenges
Every Monday, three challenges tailored to you, calculated from your previous four weeks. In groups with two or more active people there is also a weekly goal for the whole group, filled together.
For everyone
Made so anyone can use it, without a manual.
-
On your own or in a group
You can use Evzia on your own or with your partner, your family or your friends. Each person has their own goals, and everyone in the group sees the same data instantly. Any phone in the group can log for anyone. The exception is progress photos, which are private to each person. If you’re alone in your group and it has no paid plan, you can join another one and take everything you’ve logged with you. -
No passwords
You start with “Start without an account” and your name, or with your Google or Apple account if you want to recover everything when you change phones. Everyone else joins with the group’s code and PIN. Evzia has no accounts of its own with an email and password. -
Large text
A setting on each phone that raises the text size across the whole app up to about 1.4 times and rearranges the screens so everything still fits. It’s the same app, not a separate one. -
High contrast, light or dark theme and twelve palettes
Light theme, dark theme or your system’s. Twelve color palettes (Ocean when you install, Sage, Vanilla, Forest, Gold, Cocoa, Sunset, Jade, Dusty pink, Amethyst, Neon and Graphite) with measured contrast, and a high-contrast mode in black on white or white on black. -
“Undo” and gestures
What you delete or change can be undone right away, instead of asking “are you sure?” at every step; you’re only asked to confirm what can’t be reversed, like removing a phone or deleting the group. On your phone, rows are deleted by swiping them or pressing and holding, and the buttons are big. -
Works without a connection
What you log shows up instantly and is saved on your phone; when the connection comes back, it’s uploaded.
Your data and your privacy
Your data is yours: you can take it with you, export it and delete it.
-
Food database: CIQUAL 2025
Besides “Your foods” (your own), Evzia comes with the “Food database”: foods from CIQUAL 2025, the official French food composition table, with English names when you use the app in English. It searches instantly, without AI; you can copy a food to “Your foods” to correct it, and yours takes priority. Source: Anses. 2025. Table de composition nutritionnelle des aliments Ciqual (doi.org/10.57745/ ), under the Etalab 2.0 license.RDMHWY -
Import with AI
Paste weights, steps or what you ate from another app, a spreadsheet or a note. The AI puts it in order and you confirm before saving. -
Export to a spreadsheet
A summary by day, with kcal, protein, carbs, fat, weight, steps and exercise, or everything you ate food by food, for Excel or Google Sheets. -
No ads or third-party analytics
There are no ads or third-party analytics, and data is never sold or handed over to anyone. Health data (what you eat, your weight, your steps…) is only stored with your explicit permission, which you give when you start and can withdraw whenever you want. -
AI, only with your permission
What you type, dictate or photograph is only sent to another company’s AI with your permission, which the app asks for before using it and which you can withdraw in More → Settings → This phone. It always goes to providers that don’t use what is sent to train their models, and some of those companies are in the United States. Along with it goes what the calculation needs, such as your goals, your age, your height or your weight: the privacy policy says what is sent in each case. Without the permission, the app keeps working without AI calculation. -
Data in the European Union
The app’s database and server are in the European Union (Ireland), and so are the progress photos, encrypted. -
Deleting the group
From the app (More → Settings → Delete the group), everything in the group is deleted immediately and forever. Deleting the group doesn’t cancel a subscription: that’s done in the store. The details are in Deleting a group’s data and in the privacy policy.
In your browser
Evzia also works in your browser, with some limits.
-
The app at web.evzia.app
You sign in at web.evzia.app with “Start” (your name) or with your group’s code and PIN, and you see the same data as on your phone. Updates arrive when you reload the page. -
What the web version doesn’t have
- Dictation.
- Apple Health or Health Connect data.
- Reminders and notifications.
- Progress photos.
- The buttons to sign in with Google or Apple.
- Buying plans: they are purchased in the app on your phone.
Try it and decide
Evzia is free to start: the Free plan includes AI credits every month, and everything that doesn’t use AI doesn’t use any. See the plans and what each thing uses, try the calculators that use the same math as the app or read about who is behind Evzia.
